Warranty Experiences from Apache Offroad

“We get alot of warranty questions on suspension- Lets go over it!

We have been getting questions on shock warranties, some companies dont make much mention of it, some blast it all over the place. Some of them are very deceiving.

Just to get this out of the way- most warranties will be voided if its apparent YOU damaged the shock via abuse, alteration (sometimes,) you attempt to take it apart and break it, damage it in a car accident, used in competitive racing (some brands,) are a close out item (some brands) etc. Pretty common sense.

No warranties cover labor charges for installation or removal of said parts. Finishes are also generally not warrantied

Generally you will pay for shipping to the company and back- if required to send the item in.

DO NOT STACK SPACERS ON TOP OF LIFT KITS (Excluding small .5” or so trim packers used for fixing leans)

Ill List things that void the warranty that may otherwise surprise you below.

Dobinsons - 2 years unlimited miles- Have an issue- send us an email with pictures or a video- we send a replacement. No additional shipping cost to you.

Radflo- 1 Year Unlimited Miles- Have an issue- Email us pictures / video, obtain an RMA # and send it in for a repair / rebuild.

Ironman - 3 years / 36K miles. Issue- send an email, ironman generally replace the part, though at times may request you to send it in for repair. Generally pays the shipping cost.

OME- 3 years / 37K miles - Submit a warranty request on the ARB website - Voided if used in competitions, used in trucks with modified engines.

Icon- 1 Year - You ship to icon, they will inspect it and decide if they want to cover it. If its not considered wear and tear, you are responsible for replacement costs.

Eibach- Million Mile warranty- Issue- Contact the dealer you bought it from, obtain an RMA, provide sales receipt and send pictures / video- and your information. You pay shipping in for inspection.

- Voided if vehicle is taken off a paved surface (offroad,) If installed on an otherwise modified vehicle, used to carry loads over the manufacturers weight limit, Used for rallying, racing, or racing “type” activities. It is also voided if you do not have a licensed mechanic install or remove the shock.

- Warranty does not apply to bushings.

Bilstein- Most shocks have a lifetime warranty- the 5160 has a 90 day warranty as do some similar shocks. Issue- Contact bilstein- you ship to bilstein- If they determine there is a manufacturing defect- they MAY replace it. - It is common for bilstein to not honor their warranty, especially if the shock is over a year or two old. They do not list what voids their warranty.

Fox- 1 Year warranty - Contact Fox to file a warranty claim - If fox determines that the item should be repaired or replaced they will do so at their discretion. - Common to not honor warranty claims due to improper installation, use, or neglect.

King - 90 day warranty from date of PURCHASE - Keep in mind King usually has a lead time. Voided for lack of maintenance, customer supplied incorrect dimensions (custom shocks,) using with modified or non King parts, and the above general exclusions.

Freedom Offroad- 1 Year - Send us pictures and video- we will handle it for you and a replacement is usually send out. (Original purchaser only)

Toytec Boss, 2.5 series- 1 year limited warranty against defects / leakage - Contact your purchasing dealer and obtain an RMA. You must ship the shock to toytec, if determined to fail due to anything other than a defect you are responsible to replace or repair it- parts labor and shipping. If you adjust the 2.5 coilover collars, by exceeding 1“ of exposed thread over the collar your warranty is voided. Depending on your boss kit the Bilstein or eibach shock may not be covered by toytec.”
